Travel Wave Tube is the one of core part of transmitter in radar.The quality of Travel Wave Tube will decide the performance of radardirectly. Identifying the quality of Travel Wave Tube by using thetraditional measure ways is difficult, because the Travel Wave Tube worksin a complex condition and the quantity of data from test is also verylarge. This article particular introduced how to develop the Travel WaveTube Auto measure-control system. Combining the digital circuit design,the simulation circuit design, one-chip computer, serial portcommunication, GPIB bus, SCPI instrument language, Object Orienteddesign method, multithreading programming, database programming andinstrument integration, This article has offered detailed design planof hardware and software. One-chip computer and intellectual instrumentgather various kinds of field data. Then the data is transmitted to thepersonal computer by serial port and GPIB port in order to be deal withby the software. At the same time, the personal computer also controlsthis field equipment remotely. All date from measure will be kept intothe database. The whole system will adopt the 80C51 series one-chipcomputer to the field control chip. The software in personal computerwill be programmed by Visual C ++ development environment. Compared with traditional method of measurement, this system hasmany advantages. The success of Travel Wave Tube auto measure-controlsystem developing has great actual meanings to the development of theradar.
