As the space science and technology develops, the research of space mission visualization technologies becomes the focus. The opening mechanism of software is the base for building an extensible, expanded, more agile and mobile visualization system, so it has become the hotspot field of visualization. In this paper, we firstly introduce some technologies, such as the space technology, the scientific visualization technology, software engineering etc. After that we focus on discussing two questions below: 1) how to design the visualization engine which bases on the space mission, and 2) how to design and build the visualization software's opening mechanism. For the design of the visualization engine, we analyze the follow aspects: visualization intention, object, process and animator etc, and provide the graphics engine's function and framework. In this groundwork, we analyze the software design elements including software architecture, design pattern, component, plug-in and provide method of designing and building the visualization software's opening mechanism, namely using architecture of "platform + plug-ins". In this system, plug-in is classified as reference frame plug-in, 3D model plug-in and universal windows plug-in, which can meet visualization's requirements. Consequently, the visualization system platform and plug-ins are implemented. In this paper, we focus on the pivotal algorithm of plug-ins and containers, the building of system platform and so on. And then, we also provide two examples to prove the feasibility of the system. The design and implementation of the system can provide experiences of consummating this system and building other field visualization system.
