The reasons why Phoenixtv could has such great effect are related to the politicalenvironment and the relation it has with the state and society.Communication modelis a "functional model" which usually consists of words and charts.Politicalcommunication is a special type of communication, political communication modelis a relatively fixed,simple and direct description which depicts the relationshipbetween government,media and audience.Mass media are importment media inmodern political communication,so political communication model should alsoinclude the analysis of media's nature.According to general mass media theory,fromthe angle of the relationship between state and socity,communication model could bedivided into liberalism model,social responsibility model and socialism model.Thefeatures of the three models are very different. In the mainland of our country,when TV media are mentioned,they are of thefeatures of socialism model.Government control the media effectively and media aregovernment's tools for propaganda and supervision.However,it is in constantinnovation:media will have less and less financial support from government,mediawill gain it's exchequer by commerce way.The condition that the government censorand control the media seriously has never existed.The media will have more andmore free speech right and take profit and audience into account in the choice of it'scontent. The Phoenixtv political communication is different from the politicalcommunication in the mainland,and doesn't belong to that three models.It,so tospeak,is a new political communicaton model.It has the feature of liberalismmodel,it's finance and turnover are commercial.To some extent,it has the feature ofpolitical contumacy.However,it is different from liberalism model:it doesn't regardthe government as the enemy of freedom and right,doesn't diffuse spurious politicalmessages.It claims media should have more social responsibilities.It is familiar withthe social responsibility model,but not totally.Like social responsibility model,itthink high of the social responsibility.However,compared to social responsibilitymodel,the media and government have more close relations in Phoenixtv politicalcommunication.
