In this dissertation, founded on intensive study in embedded system and short-range wireless communication technology, some key techniques in software development of wireless access devices under (Clinux are discussed and a Bluetooth integrated software platform for embedded wireless access equipments is designed. Supported by Science and Technology Project of 10th Five-Year-Plan in China (2001BA102C), Science and Technology Key Project of 10th Five-Year-Plan in Jiangsu (BG2000008) and National High Technology Research and Development Plan(2003AA1Z1110), the software platform has been applied to the development of Bluetooth data/voice access system, intelligent appliance network and patient monitoring system, etc. This thesis is divided into six chapters as follows. In chapter 1, the background of the research task and the architecture of this dissertation is introduced. In chapter 2, features of Bluetooth technology and embedded systems are briefly presented. The prospect of embedded Bluetooth products is described as well. In chapter 3 and 4, the thesis focuses on analysis of embedded linux operation system, including the linux kernel, advantages and disadvantages of embedded linux and some essential techniques in constructing the software platform. A comparison of several popular embedded operation systems is given and the reason of choosing (Clinux is also explained. In chapter 5, based on the software platform, a scheme of Bluetooth LAN access point is presented and the implementation of each software module are discussed respectively. In chapter 6, the design of a Bluetooth based home network demonstration system is described firstly; then the realization of Home-Gateway is illustrated in detail.
