With the fast development of science and technology, visualization in scientific computation is widely used in all kinds of fields. But concerning the nuclear fusion reactor conceptual design, it has complex design process, large-scale dataset, different kinds of data formats and analytical objects. The common methods of visualization to treat the huge and complex data are very difficult. Therefore more advanced visualization technologies are introduced in this field.This dissertation summarizes the common visualization methods of multidimensional dataset and introduces their effect and applicable condition. Because some common algorithms are not suitable for some special physical applications, author introduce a collision detection algorithm based improved octree and an effective method of direct volume rendering based 3D texture.Then according to the field of nuclear fusion reactor conceptual design, author primarily explores the digital reactor and gives out the prototyping: IFDS integration system. On the basis of the complex relationship of the data in IFDS and dynamic multidimensional time-changing data, a new method which is called "Multi-dimension Integrated Visualization" is introduced. It fits the requirement of complex multi-dimension analysis and visualization. At last, visualization results of each compute program are introduced with samples.The experiments have proved that, in technique, IFDS integration system is feasible as a research platform in the field of nuclear fusion reactor conceptual design. Because of the opening interface of visualization system, "Multi-dimension Integrated Visualization" is also can be applied to other multidimensional fields.
