XML-based Security Gateway-XML Engine

With the popularization of Internet, network application , especially E-commerceand E-government, begin to become an important activity on the net, the onlinesecurity becomes a problem that can't be ignored day by day . People need to offerusers the identity and authority informations in the network applications, so as toensure the security of the interaction.Web Services is a middleware technology, based on XML and relevanttechnology, which can support the services-based on loosecompling procedure call tousers on Internet. XML, regards as a carrier of information expressing & transmission,can be used to access a series of operation described by Web Services. XMLEngine(XML-based Security Gateway),is designed to give the security and effectiveguarantee to the Web-service with XML.The standard of XML and SOAP involved in the XML Engine, the encryptiontheory and the XML safety standard relating to W3C will be first briefly introduced.And then the fundamentals of PKI will be generally talked about and a complete andfeasible XML Engine model will be brought up, on this basis. Finally, this model on aLINUX platform will be implemented and a full description of every step anddetails of the implementation will be given.In the entire process, the author is primarily involved in the encryption anddecryption of the system, the usage analysis of signature & verification module andthe configuration module, principle design, detailed design, codification and testing.And worked with other group members in the overall planning and design of theXML Engine project, the final testing and deployment. At present, though there aremore and more applications on XML basis, the safety issue of XML has only beenraised for a short period of time.
