During recent 30 years, the development on Computer Graphics is noticeable, which can be shown by its extensive application and important role in lots of field. In other words, no field can not be favored from the development of Computer Graphics.With the development of Computer Graphics, for most people, Computer Graphics has not been a new word. It is penetrating with people's daily life little by little. In Movie-Tele Stunt, Adv Cartoon, people have already realized the magic fascination of computer real graphic, in mechanic and construction CAD, the available business software provide screening function of real graphic, so that designers can check the appearance of the products and make alternate correction, in artificial software and driving simulation software, you also can be surprised at its function. The front field of computer graphics study is always the screening of real graphic which has spacious application foreground.Ray-tracing algorithm is one of the main algorithms to produce realistic graphics. This paper mainly studies realistic graphics theory and how to produces the realistic graphics using ray-tracing algorithm.Chapter 2 introduces the process of the realistic graphics: situation- model view-change visual threshold -cut hidden-side eliminating and visible bright-ness calculation, etc.Chapter 3 introduces the illumination Model served as the calculating criteria of brightness, illumination Model is the formula which can calculate the brightness and color that object project to the spector eye.Chapter 4 discusses the ray-tracing algorithm, focuses on the intersection algorithm and the improved algorithm. At the last, compares the in bounding-box with the improved algorithm.Chapter 5 introduces texture mapping techmology. Simulation of object detail plays an important role in the synthesis of graphics. How to present the detail is the main gaol of the computer graphics.Chapter 6 puts forward a concrete processing system of the realisticgraphics. The system designd by the subject proves that the effects are evident.
