When tracking and catching the object moving at a high speed with a video imageprocessing system, there are some crucial requirements to the system: real-time, generality,portable, miniature, and so on. Ground on the above requirements, I attempt to build areal-time video image processing system with the higher performance DSPTMSC3206416based on the former experience. The system is based on the advanced DSP+FPGAarchitecture.The DSP completes the main processing of the system. The FPGA(Field Programmable GateArray) completes the preprocessing of the video and the CPLD (Complex programmable logicdevice) controls the system logic. The real-time video image processing system is divided into several different parts: theCPU module, the video collect module and the video display module. The modules are fullyindependent in function and hardware structure. During the designing course of the system, weuse the SDB (Super Digital Bus). By the connection of the SDB, not only the correspondencespeed between the modules has been accelerated, but also relieves the bottleneck of the datatransmission. Those sorts of designs improve the flexibility of the system, and make theupdating and changing generation easy. In addition, it reduces the volume of the system. I thoroughly studied the video image processing algorithms. Ground on the requirementsof the real-time processing system and the function characteristic of the modules, I design thetotal program flow chart of the system and program the initialization program. What's more, Ibuild the accelerating algorithms of the common image preprocessing: the median filter and theaverage filter.
