Computer's reliability and availability are becoming more and more important. Though a single computer's capability and reliability is becoming better and better, But a single computer can't complete some request still. At this time, it's necessary to organize several computers to work together. This technology is called cluster. The cluster technology is a technology of providing more availability and more reliability.Because the clustering has the importance, I selected this subject. The purpose to research this subject is to apply the cluster in the application systems to increase the reliability and availability in future. Due to the condition, my research over the clustering is mainly based on the Windows 2000's clustering technology. By referring to the interrelated information and doing experimentation, I have understood the clustering deeply and apply it in the actual project.Windows introduces two clustering technologies: Cluster service and Network Load Balancing. NLB is realized using software, it mainly used to enhance both the availability and scalability of Web servers, streaming media servers, and Terminal Services. Then, to set up a Cluster service will use software and hardware, it mainly used to ensure that the critical applications are online when needed by removing the physical server as a single point of failure.The Achievements: (1) In the Global Aisai Co., it's successful to apply the clustering system, it is mainly used to share file, DNS, DHCP and other usual services. (2) In the Wuyi Mountain Jiuqu Brook Raft Attempering System, it's successful to apply database clustering system, it is used to ensure the availability of the database. (3) Through experiment, proving that the clustering system has more availability than a single computer system. (4) Through experiment, proving that at the dialing speed 33.6kbps the realization of the database replication.The innovation: In the Wuyi Mountain Jiuqu Brook Raft Attemper System's design, present the database replication to resolve the data synchronization at the environment of the time.
