Research And Development Of Seven Segment Digit Recognition In The Remote Digital Video Surveillance System

This thesis analyzes the current state of application and development of the remote video surveillance, image processing and image recognization system. Then the image processing and recognizing methods are discussed with emphasis.The advanced embedded WEB technology is adopted. Visual C++ is used as the developing tool, meanwhile, ActiveX and SQL Server technologies are also applied. This thesis gives the most emphasis to the researches and developments of converting 24bit-real-color picture to 8bit-gray-scale picture, threshold division, image enhancement, image dilation and character divisioin, etc.In order to recognize the seven segment digit, this thesis brings forward one recognizing method based on the seven rectangle area statics of the digit. The advantages of this method are simple arithmetic, good real-time performance and credibility, thus it is a perfect and practical recognizing arithmetic.Finally, this thesis predicts the prospect of the remote digital video surveillance and image recognition system.
