Design And Application Of Medical Record MIS Of The Hospital

With development of information technology, hospital information became an important way of improving the administration level of hospital. As one of the important information nodes, the management of medical record has great influence on decision-making, medical information utilizing and judicial evidence obtaining. Neither traditional paper medical record nor its simple electronic version can meet the needs of hospital management information. Therefore, adopting modern information technology in medical record management has great significance on information exchange in the hospital, among hospitals or all over the world. It is also valuable for the modernization of hospital administration, and even more for the development medical science itself.In this paper, the importance of medical record management in hospital administration, medical statistic work, scientific research and teaching etc. was demonstrated. Domestic and international research status on medical record management information system (RMIS) was analyzed. The aim of develop RMIS was introducing modern information technology into the administrating of medical record, and then changing the traditional management mode of medical record. The final purpose was accelerating the information-process of the hospital management. The basis conception and total function structure of medical record MIS was also explained.Characteristics and key technology of medical record MIS was studied in the paper. Structured Analysis & Developing Method was adopted in total layout design and module development.At the same time, Archetype Method was utilized in application and evaluation, then complicated module were simplified and exploitation process of medical record MIS was reduced. The structure of software was Client/Server mode. The foreground-developing tool was Power Builder and background tool was Oracle Database System.Many existed medical record MIS had been carefully analyzed, and some defects were founded. Analysis indicated that, to reach the aim of unified management information and rational utilization information, the MIS should be high efficiency. In addition, the ability of information sharing, integral in medicalrecord & statistic, and medical record circulation pursuing was also needed. To meet these needs, the logical model of our system is put forward.The MIS was developed according to Structured Designing Principle. The main functional module was subdivided from top to bottom. Complex modules were simplified. The configuration was comparatively independence and there function was unitary. The interdependency between modules was small.In this paper, the working environment of our medical record MIS and its practical operation result was reported. It is demonstrated that, our MIS has the advantages of high data inputting efficiency, high data sharing ability, good compatibility and high stability etc. It also was practicable, secure, opening, expansible, integral, and standard. By using this system, the medical record management method was changed from handwork and computer stand-alone write down mode to an integrative computerized information management mode. The efficiency of medical record management was high increased. The storage capacitance of medical record information is enlarged, and it is very convenient to search and using these information. In the MIS, statistic data of medical information was feed back in time, and the information integrality of circulating medical record was maintained.
