In monitoring realm the digital and network is a trend that can be extensively applied in telecommunication, power, transportation, bank, irrigation works, intelligence mansion etc. The video monitoring system can real-timely, visually, truly reflect the things that is supervised and controlled, and also can obtain the information of it, which increasing the efficiency of management and the level of official automatization. The digital video remote monitoring system is a new technique product that electronics technique, calculator technique , correspondence technique joining together with automatization technique and developing quickly.This thesis mostly analyses and studies the key techniques of digital video remote monitoring system of computer, and it also designs practically a digital video remote monitoring system of computer. The main study contents include several aspects hereinafter.The first, It has designed the whole construction of the system, analysed the software realization of the system, and divided the function modules.The second, on the foundation of analyzing with comparing some important coding standards of video at present, the thesis puts forward a project of video coding standards adopting this system. It also realizes the functions of using video compression of MPEG-4 to compress the video data with the big ratio, using the VFW to gather and deal with the monitoring video on time, using DirectShow to realize the function of playing back of video streams.The third, it mostly studies the correlative applications of TCP/IP protocol and presents a resolving method to transmit the digital video through TCP UDP IP multicast and RTP. The system adopts Winsock controls to transmit monitoring control information and IP multicast to transmit the monitoring video on network. The thesis presents the resolving methods on emphases and difficulties, such as the continuity of transmitted data, control of multicast congestion and network flux, etc., and introduces the models of programrealization on sending and receiving function of video data.The fourth, it studies the control principle and functions of the console control system and realizes the control function with Windows serial port technique.The emphases of the thesis mostly focus on the network transmitting and remote controlling of monitoring information. The design and realization of the system adopts many advanced techniques aimed at the shortages of national system in existence. Besides , the resolvents on video collecting and compressing, network transmitting have original creation. The design of system obtains a preferable fruit and achieves expectant aim.
