The Research Of Intelligent Surveillance And Its Key Techniques

A digital surveillance system can accomplish surveillance and protection of important sites and work reliably and effectively. It can realize centralized and uniform surveillance and self-surveillance of vile sites through network. Because of these merits, digital surveillance systems have been developed and applied very broadly in such sites as banks, traffics, hotels and so on.But with the development of our sociality, people wish to digital surveillance systems not only to provide digital surveillance and management for us, but also provide individual and intelligent services. Therefore, a fully novel intelligent surveillance system is proposed in this paper. We not only have realized the basic functions of the intelligent surveillance system based on MPEG-1, but also made valid researches of its key techniques (such as face detection and content-based image retrieval) and its application in welding line detection. This is importantly worthy in academe and reality. Moreover, it has brought great economic and social benefits.This paper includes five chapters. Chapter one in brief describes research background, research actuality at home and abroad, systemstructure, important techniques and the progress of the project. Chapter two addresses the realization of the basic functions of intelligent surveillance system, such as the local and remote system. Chapter three presents one of the key techniques of intelligent surveillance system -face detection and localization. Chapter four in detail states the key technique of content-based image retrieval, such as color-based, shape-based and texture-based image retrieval. The last chapter introduces the application of intelligent surveillance system in welding line detection.
