| In recent years, along with the coming of pervasive computing, embedded system has gotten a swift development because it is high-efficient and compact, etc. Embedded technology facilitates the integration of multi-level and multi-sampling computer technology today. Embedded system speeds up the design process of industry, and reduces exploration cost and risk. It features simple operation, flexible expansibility, high-efficiency and concision. It can be simple used in industry field. So the development of embedded system has been valued by more and more, given full play to self strong, flexible and simple characteristic. The rapid development becomes strong driving force for information industry. X86 embedded processor enjoys good superiority in low cost, R&D difficulty, R&D period, whole series, software compatibility, and so on. Through adopting X86 embedded processor, we can take full advantage of a lot of ready-made software, numerous development tools well with BIOS and operate systems, and we can accomplish R&D in short time.In this paper, we emphasize the hardware and software design of the 386EX embedded system's communication interface (including serial port and Ethernet port) and storage interface. Because the resource of embedded system is limited, we provide a high-efficient design of multi series port equipments managed by a single interrupt in order to save a lot of resource and improve communication efficiency of series port. Through the test results in abundance of 10M Ethernet, we analyze that the suitable length of data packet can increase network speed. Aim at the networkspeed request of image collection in industry, we bring forward the image real-time transfer scheme which be proved to be effective and useful by a lot of emulation test result.
