Nowadays, electronic rccords managcment is onc of the most difficult partin archivaI science. The thesis discusses thc appraisaI of cIectronic records,fOcusing on its particularity, content, procedure and methods etc.First of all, explaining why rcsearch on electronic records assessment.Sccondly, by comparing with papers, expounding the vast influencc whichbrought by the own character of electronic files and changes in its management,summarizing the peculiarity of electronic rccords selection and clucidatingcertain beIief when carrying out the task. Thirdly, on the base of coIIcction andinvestigation, analyzing the status quo of electronic records appraisement athome and abroad, revealing the shortcomings of our archival work. Then,putting fOrward metadata management strategy and building up work frameand security s}'stem for electronic records assessment. At last, propounding thcdifficulties and qucstions should pay attention to in electronic records selection.
