This paper studies the surface modeling and multi-resolution analysis. Firstly, uses the Gouraud shading method for three dimension man modeling, and then presents the rendering method based on weight-averaging vertex normal which gets the better effect, adopts and improves the algorithm of subdivision biquadratic B-spline surface and Bezier surface polishing for three dimension man modeling. Secondly, this paper achieves the wavelet multi-resolution analysis for curve which can be used for level-of-detail display and character picking up of image edge curve and three dimension curve. Finally, this paper also researches the surface multi-resolution analysis based on subdivision connectivity and progressive mesh, then implements the latter for the leg and head meshes of three dimension man with improving the edge collapse algorithm. The result shows that the data is decreased effectively with preserving the most of details on man surface.After the above studying, the author's opinions are given about researching more the curve surface editing, character picking up, data compressing and transmission etc.. Additionally, the author thinks the existing algorithms should be mended to increase the realistic and speed of three dimension man displaying.
