According to the requirement of the part model under the concurrent andinformation integration environment, a feature-based modeling prototypesystem of the non-revolving part for the information integration andconcurrent engineering in a medium and small-sized enterprise was developedin this paper as taking the worm-gear case as an example. This system broughtthe conception of feature, and was based on the solid modeling of AutoCAD(R2000) and the Client/Server architecture. It was developed ObjectARX, theobject oriented second advanced development tool of AutoCAD. This systemhad three modules: Feature-based module, Recognition of processing featuremodule and object-oriented engineering database management module.The object-orient software development methodology was used throughthe total development course of this system, including object-oriented systemanalysis (OOA), object-oriented system design (OOD) and object-orientedprogramming (OOP).This system has a friendly user interface, and also has an open structureand a better scalability.
