Teenage smoking is a common social problem. A large amount of researches show that company is the most important exterior factor of this activity, as the intrinsic factor is one's own characteristics. Most of our researches on this field are based on one hand only. However, teenage smoking is considered to be an interactive result of both exterior and intrinsic factors. Therefore, it should be discussed psychologically on the interaction of companionship and self-control.In this research, there first comes a review on the influence of both companionship and self-control to teenage smoking. 700 participants are chosen from some middle schools to be investigated with particular questionnaires. The result is to prove that partial elements of self-control take moderating effects on middle school students'smoking activities and the influence from peer smoking.Conclusions drawn from the study are:1 In the companion influence among students, companion smoking behavior comes first, followed by: cognition of companion smoking, smoking chance offered by companion, companion pressure. From the scoring of different types of self-control capacity among students, self-control of emotion takes the first place, self-control of behavior and thinking come afterwards.2 There're distinct difference on gender and grade of the influence of companion smoking.3 There're obvious relation between influence of companion smoking and smoking behavior. There're direct proportion between the four factors of influence of companion smoking and juvenile smoking behavior.4 Self-control capacities of middle school students are inversely proportional to the smoking behavior. Smoking behavior of middle school students who have low capacity of self-control is twice as much the students who own more self-control capacity. The factor of behavior control has the most influence upon middle school students smoking, what's more, according to standard returning index; self-control of behavior can inversely predict the smoking behavior of middle school student.5 emotion-control capacity and thinking-control capacity have an adjusting effect on companion smoking behavior and middle school student smoking behavior. Emotion-control capacity and thinking-control capacity inversely effect companion smoking behavior and middle school student smoking behavior. The relationship between companion smoking behavior and middle school student smoking behavior will decrease with the increasing of self-control capacity; the relationship between companion smoking behavior and middle school student smoking behavior will also decrease with the increasing of the self-thinking capacity.Behavior-control capacity and self-control thinking capacity have an adjusting effect on the chance of companion offering cigarette and middle school students smoking. Behavior-control capacity and self-control thinking capacity inversely effect behavior of companion smoking and middle school students smoking. The relationship between behavior of companion smoking and middle school student smoking will decrease with the increasing of self-control behavior capacity; the relationship between behavior of companion smoking and middle school student smoking will decrease with the increasing of the capacity of self-control thinking.Three factors in self-control capacity don't have adjusting effect on companion smoking cognition and middle school students smoking behavior, and they don't have adjusting effect on companion pressure and middle school student s smoking behavior either.
