Study On The Current Situation, Problems And Countermeasures Of Chinese-Foreign Cooperation In Running Higher Education Of Jiangxi Province

Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools started from 80s in the 20th century and had a history of nearly 30 years. It has already covered all levels and types of schools, but mainly in the higher education and in the eastern coastal provinces and large and medium cities with advanced economy and culture. The first project of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools in Jiangxi Province was set up in 1996. Now there were 39 projects of Chinese-foreign cooperation in higher education of formal schooling with 12 Chinese colleges' participation. Jiangxi Province is in the central part of China without advantages of economy and cultures and locations in the eastern part and Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools policy support in the western part. Thus, research on Chinese-foreign cooperation in higher education of Jiangxi Province is practically meaningful.The article adopts methods of historical documents and investigation and selects 20 projects of Chinese-foreign cooperation in higher education of formal schooling in 4 colleges of Jiangxi Province as study objects to do investigations. First it illustrates the backgrounds, motivations and development history of Chinese-foreign cooperation in higher education in Jiangxi Province and analyses five aspects of current situation, including its patterns, size, structure, management systems and quality. Patterns of running schools are dynamic; there is a large scale of schools running with 12 colleges in Jiangxi Province and 19 foreign colleges from 8 countries cooperating 39 projects in higher education; the structure of running schools is mainly distributed in three-year higher education and disciplines of engineering science, management science, economy science in Nanchang Area; the management system of running school contains external management system of two-level administration and internal management system with decision-making mechanism of joint administrative committee; the projects have already made achievements of high quality. However, there are a lot of problems followed, such as school running patterns is not deep and strong enough, the scale of Chinese colleges' participation is smaller than the scale of foreign colleges' participation, the scale of school running is totally uneven developing and so on. Therefore, the article offers corresponding advices to improve the current situation and promote the development of Chinese-foreign cooperation in higher education in Jiangxi Province as following: to strengthen the construction of patterns, to reasonably enlarge its size, to improve its structure, to perfect its management system and to improve its quality.
