Background: Nowadays, along with the development of the socialist market economy, the advanced adjustion of the organization of the institutions and the increased trouble in job-seeking, more and more undergraduates display psychologic problems associated with adaptation, study, relationship, love and sex, emotion and personality, and employment. In recent years the results of the studies made by psychologic workers demonstrate that some of the university students have psychologic inadaptation or disorders. In this research, undergraduates, from different grades of the medical school, were investigated to find out reasons for different psychologic issues in different grades and take education measures, using the SAS & SDS scale, the SCL-90 scale and one questionnaire designed by our colleagues. Objective: Use available measuring tools to study the major psychologic problems and the influential factors in different age grades of university. Base on the results of measurements, analysis the effects of age, sexuality, environmental difference of lifes in city and country, love, internet, and the pressure of the study and job-hunting, to the university students in different grades. And take some effective methods to better the psychologic status of the students in medical academy in different grades.Method: Using the SAS& SDS scale, the SCL-90 scale and one questionnaire designed by our colleagues, 400 undergraduates were investigated, from the 1st , the 3rd, the 6th and the 7th grade. 400 respondents were collected while only 331 ones were effective. The recovery rate is 94.6%Results:1. 97 students in 331(29.3%) who are investigated complain about the symptom of anxiety and depression while another 234 persons (70.7%) don't. Among the ones having symptom 59 persons (60.8%) have depressive disorder, and 38 ones (39.2%) have anxiety disorder. This demonstrates that 29.3% medical students have psychologic problems. If this part of students are not considered or helped, they may have a high risk to have psychologic disease.2. There is a relationship between the development of anxiety and only child, poor living accommodation in university. When the other conditions are the same, the possibility of anxiety is 1.875 times in only child than that in others, and 0.388 times in good accommodation group than that in low accommodation group, and 0.388 times in low accommodation group than that in non-accommodation group. Because the standard partial regression coefficient of the influential factors in only child is 0.1619 and that the living accommodation is -0.2343, the later is more effective.3. The differences of the depression among the grades have statistical significance (X~2=12.352, P=0.006<0.05,α=0.05). In number of people grade 3 is the most, however comparing the depression disorder's rate in each grade, grade 3 and grade 7 are similar. There is no significant difference between different sex and among different age groups.4. The living environment and the feeling about campus life are related with the depression disorder. The incidence rate of depression is 1.805 times in city students than country ones, 0.430 times in rich and colorful feeling group than common group, 0.430 times in common group than boring feeling group, 1.610 times in the group having fear feeling about campus life and no self-confidence than the group who ever had that feelings, 1.610 times in the group who ever feel fear about campus life and not self-confident than the group who never feel that, 0.506 times in good accommodation group than low accommodation, and 1.918 times in the students who like the ways of educations now than the ones who don't like that. From the standard partial regression coefficient of the factors above, the feeling about campus life is the effective one to depression.5. In the obsession dimensions of SCL-90, different age groups have statistics difference (p<0.05). The obsession dimension score will decrease 0.0345 correspondingly when the age plus one. Under the hypothesis test the estimate value of regression coefficient have statistical significance (p<0.05). The score will be 0.8226 lower in the students who ask for help from the teacher when they come with troubles than the ones who ask for help from parents. Under the hypothesis test the estimate value of regression coefficient have statistical significance (p<0.01). Except for hostility and paranoia, there are significant differences among different grades in other dimensions of SCL-90.6. We did the generalized regression model analysis, using the obsession score as dependent variable, student source, family ecnomic status, only child, the expectation to the campus life, feeling about study, feeling about normal life, confidence, making friends, accommodation to university life, liking degree to basic courses, liking degree to teaching methods as independent variables (the followed independent variables are the same). The total test result shows that F=4.53, p<0.0001, which demostrates that the model has statistical significance. After the elimination of other independent variables' effect, the fear or non-confidence to university, accommodation to capmus life, pressure of university study, love have significant effect to interpersonal relationship separately. The accommodation to capmus life and the pressure of university study have significant effect to somatization eliminatint the effect of other independent variables. The result shows that to the accommodation to university life, using non-accommodation as reference group, good accommodation group's score in interpersonal relationship is 0.8030 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group, low accommodation group's score is 0.6385 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group (P<0.005). High pressure group'score is 0.2642 unit higher than that of low pressure group (P<0.05). Score of students without love is 0.1857 unit higher than those in stable love (P<0.01).7. Using the SCL-90 depression score as dependent variable, the accommodation to university life, liking degree to courses, pressure have significant effect to depression after eliminating the effect of other independent variables. The result shows that to the accommodation to university life, using non-accommodation as reference group, good accommodation group's depression score is 0.6799 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group, low accommodation group's score is 0.5494 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group (P<0.01). Liking courses group'score is 0.3515 unit lower than that of unliking coreses group (P<0.05). Score of middle liking degree group is 0.2594 unit lower than those in unliking group (P<0.05).8. Using the SCL-90 anxiety score as dependent variable, feeling about normal life of univerty, accommodation to university life have significant effect to anxiety after eliminating the effect of other independent variables. The result shows that the score of students thinking the university life colorful is 0.3571 unit lower than that of students who feel boring. Normal feeling group' score is 0.2089 unit than boring feeling group's (P<0.05). To the accommodation to university life, using non-accommodation as reference group, good accommodation group's anxiety score is 0.8295 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group, low accommodation group's score is 0.8208 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group (P<0.001).9. Using the SCL-90 hostility score as dependent variable, the accommodation to university life have significant effect to hostility after eliminating the effect of other independent variables. The result shows to the accommodation to university life, using non-accommodation as reference group, good accommodation group's hostility score is 0.8372 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group, low accommodation group's score is 0.8564 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group (P<0.001).10. Using the SCL-90 fear score as dependent variable, the accommodation to university life have significant effect to fear after eliminating the effect of other independent variables. The result shows to the accommodation to university life, using non-accommodation as reference group, good accommodation group's fear score is 0.7433 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group, low accommodation group's score is 0.6643 unit lower than that of non-accommodation group (P<0.001).11. Using the SCL-90 paranoia score as dependent variable, The result shows that fear or non-cofidence to university and the accommodation to university life have significant effect to fear after eliminating the effect of other independent variables.12. Using the SCL-90 phychinosis score as dependent variable, The result shows that the accommodation to university life and pressure of university study have significant effect to fear after eliminating the effect of other independent variables. Conclusion: Undergraduates with psychological problems, especially with the somatization symptoms and relationship, do exist, no matter with the sex and the grade. The symptoms such as somatization symptoms, relationship, anxiety, depression, obsession and psychonosis and their degree have significant differences among different grades. Family relations associate with some symptom, such as, relationship, enmity et al. The love experience could also influence the psychological health. Accommodation for the daily life and pressure from job-seeking or elevation also influence the psychological health. Therefore do education to help undergraduates form an optimal personality. Culture an excellent environment in collage to contribute to the psycho-health of undergraduates. Combine the professional and non-professional psycho-education.
