Ecological Olympics: Trend Of Olympic Games

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge declared in his speech at the Closing Ceremony of the Game of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing that "These were truly exceptional Games", which declared the great success of Beijing Olympic Games. The success of the Beijing Olympic Games not only brings us the exciting and proud spirit, but also the self-questioning and self-examination from the cultural aspect. How do the three concepts of Beijing Olympic Games -"environment-friendly Olympics, culture-enriched Olympics and technology-empowered Olympics" influence the future Olympic Games? How to resolve the ethical dilemma of the modern Olympic Games? What is the developing tendency of the modern Olympic Games? All these theoretical questions are worthy of the rational and deep consideration from those aspects of physical culture, philosophy, ethics and sociology.In this paper, a new concept of Eco-Olympic Games is put forward from the study of the future development trend of the Olympic Games by using the literature materials, expert interviews, mathematical statistics, the logical inductive method and other methods on many domestic and foreign literature and relevant statistical data. This paper starts on its exposition from the following three parts:Firstly, through the study of the ecological concepts and its developing course as well as the recalling of the development of the eco-Sport and environment-friendly Olympics, the concept of Eco-Olympic Games is put forward. The properties of the Eco-Olympic Games are clarified as the natural, cultural, social, holistic and sustainable natures. And that the harmony is the core values and notions of the ecological concept of the Eco-Olympic Games is pointed out.Secondly, through the demonstration of four topics such as the Eco-Olympic Games is the concrete embodiment of the ecological civilization; the Eco-Olympic is the practical needs for resolving the alienation of the Olympic Games; the Eco-Olympic is an inevitable choice for the Olympic ideology, and the Eco-Olympic is natural result of the expansion of the regulations of value, the conclusion of this paper is drawn that the Eco-Olympic Games are the inevitable developing trend of the future Olympic Games.Thirdly, the paper expounds the methods of achieving the Eco-Olympic Games, Which are establishing the awareness of the Eco-Olympic Games, setting up the culture of the Eco-Olympic Games, strengthening the system construction through the concepts of the Eco-Olympic Games and guiding the Olympic practice through the notions and values of the Eco-Olympic Games.
