In recent years, the importance people attach to life education reflects that modern education has gone deeply into people's spiritual world. It also shows that the development of human and society sets newer and higher requirement of modern education reform. Life Education In Primary School (LEIPS) has a great significance in strengthening minor's ideological and moral construction, providing favorable environment for pupils'physical/mental health and life development, and, culturing high-quality citizens. In this thesis, an overview of educationists'studies on LEIPS is given in the first place. Then current situation and existence reason of LEIPS are revealed. Following that, several theoretical orientations of life education, including Ecological Orientation Theory, are discussed to figure out the essence of life education from the viewpoint of ecology. Finally, with its own research of life education as the reference frame, this thesis makes some research on the practice of LEIPS by choosing certain angles and ecological factors of education. This research has some theoretical and practical significance guiding the research of LEIPS.The thesis is divided into four main parts:The first part is introduction. It mainly focuses on the analysis of current research and practice of life education theory. The current status of life education is revealed by introducing related practice and research progress at home and abroad. Several factors of the research, such as history, present situation and content, are presented as practical references for the discussing of life research on LEIPS.The next part is about investigation and research. Taking Gaochun Experimental Primary School as a sample, current situation of LEIPS in China is investigated detailedly with questionnaire. It also provides the basis for my further research on LEIPS. The third part gives the studies on ecological orientation of life education. Several theoretical orientations are introduced to find out some experience and insufficiency. Relevant literatures are presented here for the purpose of providing theoretical basis, helping to put forward the rationality of ecological orientation.In the last part of this thesis, we discuss the application of Ecological Orientation Theory in LEIPS. By using theories and methods from Ecology and Ecological Oriented Theory, the practice of LEIPS is discussed in detail from five angles: school ecological environment which cares for life, school cultural environment which conserves life, class ecological environment which concerns life, family ecological environment which cherishes life and social ecological environment which moistens life.
