To Comment The Application Of Poetry In History Teaching Of Senior Schools

There are countless poems in the history of China. They are neat in sentences, harmonious in structures, and strict in the rhymes. They are not only a kind of literary styles which can express strong emotions, but also a product of history that can reflect the politics, economy and social life in different periods. Therefore, the poetry becomes an indispensable supplementary means of history teaching in the senior schools. I wrote this thesis by combining the characteristics of poems and the practical facts of the grade-2-students.There are four parts in the thesis, including Introduction, main text, references and conclusion. There are three chapters in the main text. Chapter 1 mainly discusses the necessity of introducing the poetry into the history teaching. I conclude the relationship among the poems, history and history teaching on the basis of introducing the poetry's characteristics. After analyzing the reasons why poems can embody the 3-D purpose by researching the purposes of new history courses in high school, I illustrate the necessity of introducing the poetry into the history teaching. Chapter 2 discourses the application of poetry in the history teaching. I combine the purposes of new courses and the teaching process, utilizing my real experience and some practical cases, to reflect the significance and effects of the poetry in the history teaching. First of all, I illustrate the effects of poetry to the students in knowledge and capacity; then I discuss the application of poetry in the teaching course and purpose; at last, I exposit the application of poetry in emotion, attitude and life values. Besides, I also present the practical problems that teachers should pay attention. In all, the application of poetry can not only stimulate the atmosphere of history class, but also can help achieve the history teaching purpose, such as obtaining the knowledge and capacity from history class and so on.
