The Present Situation And Countermeasure Research Of Southern Part Of Fujian Province 'Songjiang Array'

"Songjiang Array"also called"Songjiang Show"or"Harness Songjiang"is a traditional sports activity based on a Marshal art and featured in battle arrays, quite prevalent in southern Fujian Province and Taiwan area. Originated from the Ming Dynasty in southern part of Fujian province, Songjiang Array is copied from the imitation of"Thirty six Big Dippers and seventy two Terra Goblins", representing 108 heroes in the novel of Outlaws of the Marsh. In the grandeur of modern display, 108 people participate in the magnificent performance of the array, which was once known as the"rare treasure"in the culture of southern part of Fujian Province. Its special bodybuilding feature, social and cultural value contribute significantly to the development of the sports and folk arts in southern part of Fujian Province and Taiwan area. Nowadays, at the grave point of development to the Songjiang Array in the southern part of Fujian, it is necessary to dig out the cultural connotation of the Songjiang Array, study its development in the southern part of Fujian, popularize its theoretical knowledge among ordinary people, and arouse people's enthusiasm, understanding and support in order to promote the persistent growth of the Songjiang Array.In order to find ways to push forward the popularity of the Songjiang Array in southern part of Fujian province, this paper, adopting such research techniques as documentary information, experts'consultation, field investigation, questionnaire and logic analysis, conducts its research on the historical origin and the status quo of the Songjiang Array in the southern part of Fujian, traces back to its root and the course of its development and explores its present status, value and influential factors.The research has the following findings: 1) Songjiang Array originated from the Ming Dynasty in the southern part of Fujian Province, in which people imitated the romance of 108 heroes in the novel of Outlaws of the Marsh and even deified them. Later on it was melted into marshal art trainings and mixed with army arrays, while the multi-functional"Songjiang Array of various forms was evolved from its continuous growth among the grassroots of people into a form of grand group calisthenics. 2) At present, only 16 teams of Songjiang Array are left in the southern part of Fujian Province, most of which are self-organized by individual villages and Wushu centers, its members dominated by males, middle-aged, seniors and children. Consequently, lack of attendance for training and poor material condition deteriorates the further development of the art, and leads to a downgrade of performances to an average of only one or two shows held each year. 3) The followings are factors that affect the further developments: obsolete training methods, weak theoretical researches, lack of money, shock from modern sports, negative impact from merchandised economy, false orientation at traditional sports culture, weak in education and short of younger generation reserves, etc. 4) countermeasures to the development of the Kungfu Board in the southern part of Fujian Province: bring into full pay the regional trait of its geographical advantage, combine it with the culture and tourism, explore the traditional culture in the southern part of Fujian Province, push"Songjiang Array"onto the path of industrialization, accelerate the training of younger generation for the Songjiang Array, create a joint pattern of"government-school-society", speed up the study of organizing and spreading the Songjiang Array on a creative path, in the service of bodybuilding campaign, make it a spotlight in the bodybuilding campaign of the whole nation in the rural areas of Fujian Province.
