| With the development of the market economy, people's thinking has undergone tremendous changes. The adverse social trends, such as money-oriented, enjoy First, and individual First, etc. have a significant impact on young people. The subject of history is one of the basic disciplines in humanities. It bears an important function and plays an important role in the moral education of young people. Today, with the increasing development of society and education, it has great significance to stress again that we should tap the moral factors in secondary school history textbook in the moral education of young people to meet the contemporary situation and strengthen and improve ideological and moral construction of the young people.In planning the education reform in the coming five years in 2004, Minister of Education Zhou Ji has made clear that we should take"growing up"and"becoming a useful person"as the two fundamental criteria to measure the quality of education. It also points out in the report to the 17th National Congress of the CPC in discussion reporting about education that:"We should fully implement the Party's education policy, adhere to people-centered education and education in ethics first, put education for all-round development into practice, raise the level of modernization in education, and foster socialist builders and successors featuring an all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and art…"Moral character is essential in a person's growth, and the education in ethics of young people has always been the top priority in education in China. Among the many ways to the education in ethics, infiltration of moral disciplines in science is a very important one, especially taking full advantage of history materials in the education of traditional virtues, which has an incomparable superiority to other subjects. This thesis focuses on the importance and the ways of taping history textbook in carrying forward the traditional virtues.This thesis mainly uses case analysis and literature research. First, I analyzed certain teaching cases and then drew a conclusion. Secondly, I collected some materials related to this research and grasped the issues related to research in this field and gradually formed the idea and structure of this study. In addition, this study also took the methods of observation and experiment. In this thesis, I also give my own ideas on the moral education and the moral evaluation of secondary school students, such as, to infiltrate moral disciplines into secondary school students being the professional ethics of teachers, the evaluation of the infiltration of moral education in teaching being included in the evaluation of teachers, and so on.This thesis is divided into four parts. Part I mainly clarifies education in ethics, traditional virtues, education of traditional virtues, and several other related concepts. Part II analyzes the necessity of carrying forward the traditional virtues in society today and the importance of taping history textbook in carrying forward the traditional virtues. Part III, combining with my own teaching practice and taking a teaching plan as example, illustrates how to tap history textbook to carry forward the traditional virtues in specific classroom teaching. Part IV points out that the key to how to make more efficient use of history materials to carry forward the traditional virtues is the teacher himself. In this part, in addition to a few viable suggestions to history teachers, I also put forward some views of my own on the current education reform.The infiltration of moral disciplines in history teaching is an important part in education in ethics in school. A history teacher with a sense of responsibility should make full use of his classroom and the treasure of history materials to educate his students in the traditional virtues, so that they can truly"grow up"and"become a useful person".
