It is an important portion of quanlity education to develop the operative ability in geography .In order to search for a feasible menthod to develop the students'operative ability,this thesis makes a penetrating analysis of the practical plight of geography education in middle schools.The thesis consists of three parts.The first part namely the introduction presents the analysis of the changing of relation between hunman and geography ,and the influence which the development of society brings to the geography curriculum .In this part ,the development of geography education in our country has been also reviewed .The second fovuses on analyzing the practical plight in cultivating students'operative ability.In this part,the author also analyzed the solutions of the cultivation of innovation ability in geography .The last fovuses on analysis involves many aspects such as education thoughts .education methods and the psychological schema of education and culture ,The author discussed the solutions connecting with the design of curriculum,the changing of teaching mode and the adjustment of text concepts .etc.
