This thesis is a cultural comparative study of Chinese women employees and German women employees. The setting is German corporation. The focus is the cultural differences Chinese women employees and German women employees (co-cultural group members) behave when interacting with their male bosses and male colleges (dominant group members). The thesis uses co-cultural theory, especially three co-cultural orientations, as a basis to explore the cultural explanation of Chinese women employees and German women employees'different behaviors when engaging in the practices of the three co-cultural orientations. The author chooses women, especially professional women, as research target because they have their unique characteristics compared with men. Generally speaking, professional women traditionally act as an under-represented co-cultural group in corporations mainly dominated by men. So in order to reach their preferred outcome, they adopt some approaches when communicating with the dominant group. During this process, different behaviors are presented by Chinese and German professional women. And this paper researches the cultural explanations behind these differences.
