For a long time, the teaching of composition writing in the middle school has been time---consuming, ineffective, without obvious achievements. Such an embarrassing situation has always been difficult to change, giving rise to widespread criticism, with "the lacking of creativity" being the common content.Actually, what causes "the lacking of creativity" is the negligence of the education of creative thinking. Therefore, the teacher should not only teach the students some knowledge and methods about composition, but also enhance the training of their thinking, especially creative thinking, which is more important.Many theoretic papers and books on creative thinking and the education of creative thinking ability have been published in the academic world of China as well as of other countries with developed educational level. They expound the basic content and training methods of creative thinking from multi-angles and multi-levels, which are highly valuable for the research of creative thinking and its relevant content. However, there haven't been many research fruits on creative thinking in the teaching of composition so far. This paper, which is on the basis of documents, surveys and the research of single cases, tries to establish a set of practical and systematic methods for the education of the students' creative thinking in composition, improving their creative thinking ability in composition effectively, enabling them to truly get rid of the yoke of fixed thinking. This paper includes three parts: the preface, the main body and the conclusion. The preface mainly introduces the significance of choosing such a topic and the present research situation both in china and abroad. It also raises the main problems that the paper is trying to solve. The main body consists of five parts. The first one makes analysis of the factors that affect the students' creativity in composition. The second one makes a theoretic research on the implication, characteristics of creative thinking, creativity of the middle school students, the features of their creative thinking in composition, as well as the significance of creative thinking in composition training. The third one is about the necessary conditions for the education of the students' creative thinking, such as broadening their outlook, forming a cultural sediment within themselves, thus laying a foundation to educate the creative thinking. This part also suggests stimulating creative thinking by creating a democratic, equal teaching atmosphere and points out that improving students' thinking quality and developing their habit of thinking independently is key to educate their creative thinking. The fourth part, which is on the sis of the above argumentation and combination with the cases of composition writing, further expounds the ways and methods of the training of creative thinking in composition teaching from many aspects, such as the education of the students' extending thinking ability, intuitive thinking ability and inspirational thinking ability. The paper's purpose is to guide the students to apply the regularity of creative thinking to their composition writing consciously, thus broadening their composition writing space and improving their composition quality.
