Spatial Division Of Labor And Spatial Reconstruction Of Urban Agglomeration

Urban agglomeration is a phenomenon which arises in a certain stage of urbanization. Nowadays, urban agglomeration has become a basic spatial zone for a country or district to compete in the global market and to divide in the international labor. The new system pattern whose main characteristic is the urban agglomeration is becoming a hot spot.In the point of spatial division of labor, the evolvement of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration is researched in details in the paper. On the basis of analyzing spatial division of labor theory, selecting Su-Xi-Chang urban agglomeration as an example, this article discusses the re-construction of the spatial structure of Su-Xi-Chang urban agglomeration at last.The whole article contains five parts. In the first part, the progress of research at home and abroad, the meanings, background and main contents of this study are introduced. As a part for basic theories, the second chapter mainly analyzes the spatial division of labor theory and its relationship with the evolvement of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration. The spatial division of labor theory is discussed in four aspects: inter-industry spatial division, intra-product spatial division, space as productive material and some basic categories of spatial division of labor. After that, the relationship between the spatial division of labor and the evolvement of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration is discussed in local scale, regional scale and global scale. Dwelling on the changing of industry, industry product, location in the system of global division and the situation of inner spatial division of labor in Su-Xi-Chang urban agglomeration, the third chapter discusses the process and factors of the evolvement of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration. On the basis of the conclusion of the third chapter, through analyzing the basic characteristics and mechanism of the spatial structure evolvement in Su-Xi-Chang urban agglomeration, the relationship between spatial division of labor and evolvement of urban agglomeration spatial structure is more detailedly discussed in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter is a part for conclusion and sums up the main conclusions of the whole article.
