China has seen a period of HIV/AIDS expanding quickly in recent years and this tendency is much serious. The number of female HIV/AIDS virus carriers and the sufferers are increasing very fast.To explain this phenomenon, the paper firstly discusses the biological differences between men and women in HIV/AIDS infecting and transmitting, which show that women are biologically easier to be infected. Then it describes the differences between men and women in ideas and behaviors, which may lead to or help to transmit HIV/AIDS. Men's idea "to be a big man" pushes them to make some highly dangerous behaviors; Men have more sex partners than women; Men decide when and where to make sexual intercourse and they decide if condemns are used; Gays are more than Lesbians, so the highly dangerous behaviors are more; Women are the victims of violence more often such as raping, sexual violation, sexual harassment and home violence, which increase the possibility to infect HIV/AIDS. Prostitution and drug using are usually results to the fact that women's social status is lower. Men become the bridge group whom transmit HIV/AIDS in the sex net because of their buying sex. The male drug users account for 80% of the addicts, so they have more influence on the HIV/AIDS transmitting. The male floating people are more than the female, which increases the rate of sexual intercourse at random. Finally, the paper focuses on describing the differences between men and women in social status. The traditional ethics that men are superior to women are still strong.Women are poorer educated than men and they are discriminated while finding jobs. Women's income is often less than that of men. All these make the social and cultural factors of the fact that women are easier to be infected than men.The paper holds that not only the biological differences but also the cultural factors make women be easier to be infected than men. The basic reason for this is the traditional ethics that men are superior to women, which results in the differences in social status between the male and female. These differences lead to the differences in behaviors between the two genders, which become the direct reason why the number of female HIV/AIDS virus carriers and the sufferers are increasing very fast. It pointed out that it is men who are dominating the spreading and prevalence of HIV/AIDS and women are victims more often. It insists that our target in short term should be men other than women and we must urge them to change their highly dangerous behaviors. The target in middle and long terms should be women, that is to say, to greatly promote women's social status, including their education, the rate of employment and their income. Of course, our final target is to ensure that women are equal to men and to eliminate the old ethics that men are superior to women. Only in this way can we keep HIV/AIDS within limits, alleviateand weaken the catastrophic results of HIV/AIDS, for our country, for our society and for our families.
