Rural women education status is a multi-perspective and multi-level concept. It refers to the position rural women hold, compared with men, in the allocating system of educational resources , the degree of equality in getting opportunities, the relation of rights to obligations reflected by the equality degree between men and women in their process of education as well as the degree of women's being respected by others or other groups as an individual or a whole group. This paper takes the fixed number of years women receive education as a criterion to measure rural women education status, and subjectively and objectively describes the present situation of rural women education status in terms of the degree to which education is stressed between generations, the desire to be educated and the degree to which women are satisfied with their own education as well as the degree to which women approve of themselves. The result indicates that the rural women education status in Hubei Province, compared with the situation in the nineties, has been greatly improved; however, there is still a big difference between education status of rural women and that of rural men and urban women.Rural women education status is the result of multi-factors. This paper subjectively and objectively analyzes the factors affecting rural women education status from aspects of community, family and individual. This paper also tries to explore the causes of the differences existing among rural women individuals, and establish an expository model for the theory of rural women individuals' education status. The research result shows that the low education status of rural women is caused by the fact whether they are from town or countryside, sex and social concepts. The unbalanced development between rural and urban economy is the major cause of the general differences in the female education status between town and city, and the inferior rural female education status caused by economy appears to be obviously different from time to time. Sex is the major factor that contributes to the differences between male and female education status in the countryside. The education status of rural women is far lower than that of men.The individual difference in the rural female education status is the co-result of age, social sex concept, social flow, the degree to which awoman approves of her education and the importance parents attach to education and the amount of education parents receive. Among family factors, the importance parents attach to education and the amount of education the mother receives is in plus correlation with the daughter's education status. The more importance parents attach to their daughter's education, the more education the mother receives, and the higher the daughter's education status is. Among individual factors, individual age has a remarkably negative influence on the rural women education status: the older an individual is, the less year she can receive education, thus the lower her education status is. Individual flow is in plus correlation with the fixed number of years rural women receive education: the farther they flow, the more the fixed number, of years increase. Social sex concept has a negative influence on rural women education status: the more traditional the sex concept is, the lower the rural women education status is.
