For decades, the traditional model like "a blackboard, a piece of chalk, a mouth, a book" or " blackboard-writing plus wall pictures or charts" has been dominant in classroom teaching, which is now out of step with the demands of current information society on education. The reform and renovation of school education, classroom instruction's idea, model and approach has become a task of top priority. With modern educational technology infiltrating into classroom teaching, it is natural that the subject of Chinese should not decline to shoulder a responsibility.Considering the fact that the demands for information is far greater for Chinese, teachers can make use of library on-line to enlarge students' reading, develop students' ability of information-processing and correct compositions on-line so as to give students timely feedback. As a result, it will be both time-saving and effective. Therefore, the application of media technology in Chinese teaching has a bright future. However, opinions are divided on whether teachers should put to use media technology in Chinese teaching.Based on the analysis of the present situation of its application, this paper attempts to probe into the problem with how to apply modern instructional technology in Chinese teaching but not the problem with whether to use it. In conclusion, the application of modern technology will cause teaching innovations and inevitably bring about the change of educational idea as well as teaching model.
