Abstract in present China, CAl (Computer Aided Instruction), a modern eaucationai technique, is being widely introduced into the practical teaching of different subjects in schools and has played an important part. As a main subject in high schools, Chinese teaching in High Schools is one of the subjects that CAL was introduced into comparatively early, and CAL has also played an important role in Chinese teaching. However, on the whole CAL was adopted quite late in Cl-抧a and has a poor foundation. As a result, in the d 憊elopment of CAL and in practical teaching, a lot of problems have arisen, which require knowing, probing into, and studying. This paper attempts to analyze, probe into and study the application of CAL in Chinese teaching in high schools from the features of Chinese teaching and the characteristics of computer multi-media technique. It analyzes the merits and demerits of CAL in Chinese teaching in high schools; probes into the causes of the problems arisen; presents the principles to be followed in using CAL in Chinese teaching in high schools and the ways to realize the continuous development of CAl in Chinese teaching in high schools so that CA! may be interfused into Chinese teaching in high schools and become its organic part and play a greater part.
