Era of knowledge economy, lifelong educational thinking has been to everybody. The rapid development of network technology and modern educational technologyinnovation, make e-learning be a very important way to get self-improvement. It is insuch an atmosphere that virtual learning communities present rapidly. The virtuallearning community makes learners that have common themes get together, so it hasbecome a new place for life-long learning. Social interaction is the key of virtuallearning communities to exist and develop. People must communicate with others inthe learning process. In virtual learning communities, learners use the Internetinteractive platform for information sharing, knowledge dissemination and emotionalcommunication. It has improved the learning greatly. Social network analysis hasopened up avenues to study the interaction among community members. It can drawthe interactive network structure of members. It can find the density and otherproperties of the network. It also can get the location and network roles of allmembers. Through analysis of these results, we can think of some appropriatestrategies to promote social interaction between members, and then make them learnwell.According to the study of Dr. Gan, virtual learning communities are divided intotwo categories. They are formal educational virtual learning communities andinformal educational virtual learning communities. In this study, the educationdiscovery learning village belongs to the latter. The text chooses《Google ServiceApplication Manual》book group to be object of study. By collecting data of IRCplatform and Google group forum, we can use social network analysis to reveal theproject team members'interactive participation, and we can use content analysis toobtain the depth of interaction of the community members. In the study, we also havesome interviews with some participants to analyze the behavioral factors behind theformation of social networks. The study found that in the process of finishing theproject, community members get interactions with the instability, and the socialnetwork was formed by a step change. The study also found that the project team's social network has an obvious existence of opinion leaders and edge participants. Inthe social network, members are also able to interact and conduct e-learning easily, but the depth of interaction is not high enough. Finally, based on social networkanalysis results, the author gives a series of strategies to improve communityinteraction, with a view to the promotion of interactive effects of other projects. This thesis is divided into five chapters, as follows:The first chapter describes the subject of the research background, present status, research content, purpose and significance, research ideas and methods. The second chapter describes the education discovery learning villages and itsprojects. The third chapter, based on defining the concepts of social networks, we analyzethe project team interaction profile, as well as the formation of social networkstructures. The forth chapter, we give some strategies to improve the interaction betweenlearners, from the perspective of social networks. The fifth Chapter, we have summarized the research findings of the entireresearch work, and pointed out the deficiencies of the studyand further efforts.
