Reflecting the cultural value of mathematics is one of the concepts of the new curriculum standards. Its importance has been now generally accepted by classroom teachers. Because of the unique mathematical teaching and learning environment in senior high schools, there are many confusions even misunderstandings as teachers try to reflect mathematics cultural value in their class. Through referring to literatures and questionnaires, I have found that most research and practice on reflecting mathematics cultural value in classroom teaching are only confined to emphasizing its significance with few cases. This reflects the lack of the knowledge of the culture value of the teachers and their confusions in practice.My thesis combines my observations in teaching and claims of the new curriculum standards, making such terms clear as mathematics culture, mathematical cultural value and other basic concepts. Meanwhile, I make fundamental principle on instructional designs and primary strategy to practice clearly. by means of action research, using mathematics thought as the key of instructional designs, my paper contains nine cases selected from my practice. Each lesson and each lesson type (including the most common exercises commenting) are based on the thinking. They focus on the background of mathematical content esthetic value and application, student-centered and emotional changes, in order to stimulate students' interest in mathematics learning. Besides teaching in class, I also obtain students'feedbacks by their homework, questionnaires and interviews and other methods to support my view.Finally, I give my conclusion:Mathematics teaching and mathematics culture can achieve a better connection, that is, mathematics cultural can return to the mathematics classroom, which helps the students to change their view of mathematics and stimulate their interest in learning mathematics. Meanwhile, digging the cultural value of mathematics provides a better platform for us teachers' professional growth and also demands teachers to improve our professional level and that is the key of the new curriculum reform.
