On the background of enlarged enrollment of compulsory education and higher education, the entrance opportunity of key universities becomes the focus of educational competition, at the same time, the scarce excellent high school opportunities becomes the bottleneck of the competition. Who have possessed the educational opportunities of excellent high school? Are the students came from different social groups can get the same educational opportunities of excellent high school? What are the differences among educational opportunities of excellent high school? These problems would be answered in this study.The research objects of this paper are Four high schools which represent the highest level of high school education of Bijie Area. Analysis on literature data and questionnaire investigates about the enrolled students are used in this study. Referring to the information about high school development and the structure of social population of Bjie Area, the study makes statistics of quantity and analysis on quality of the educational opportunities of the four excellent high school, and aims to make the difference of educational opportunities of excellent high school clearThe research indicates that differences of educational opportunities widely exist in the four excellent high schools. Difference of educational opportunities manifested as urban-rural difference, gender difference and family situation difference. The urban-rural difference is not only the main manifestation of educational opportunities, it also restricts the gender differences and the family situation difference and made both a very noticeable differences in urban and rural.The urban-rural difference is the main manifestation of difference of educational opportunities. The urban-rural difference not only found that students from urban area have more enrollment rate than students from rural area, but also reflected in the different admission in urban and rural:the actual admission of rural students scored far higher than urban students.The Gender difference of excellent high school educational opportunities is intertwined with the urban-rural difference. Male has dominant position. However, there are different manifestations of gender difference in urban and rural:access to education, urban students shows female advantage consistent with the conclusions of academic research, but rural students are male dominated due to the influence of traditional concept and the impact of cultural practices.The conclusion of paper is that the educational opportunity for every student is unequal. Academic competition in educational opportunities of excellent high school is still the main bar of competition points, but scores of high school enrollment is no longer the only leverage. The scarcity of high-quality educational resources led to intense and competition for high-quality educational opportunities. The occupation and education of the parents of student, family conditions of student as household economic conditions and family environment are more involved and become the new bar of competition for educational opportunities. Good family conditions are important bargaining chips for students in competition for educational opportunities of excellent high school, and family conditions of urban students are better than rural students in general. in order to solve this problem, the fundamental way is that the government should change the strategy for urban development and set up the balanced development between the rural high school and urban high school.
