| The legal status and the rights and interests protection for illegitimate children has been an unavoidable issue in recent parenthood legislation. According to the development trend of child-oriented parenthood law, most countries today are concentrating on the best interests of the child and trying to improve the conditions of illegitimate children. This thesis is to explore the legal protection of illegitimate children by the historical view and comparison with different countries. First of all, the author studies the history of legal status of illegitimate children, so as to access the development trend of illegitimate protection legislation and provide guidance for the innovation of illegitimate children legislation. Then the legislations relating to illegitimate children protection from some countries and regions are introduced to broaden horizon. And suggestions for the legislation of illegitimate children are concluded for the perfection of the legal protection system of illegitimate children in China.Besides preface and conclusion, there are four chapters in this article.Preface briefly introduces the living condition of illegitimate children in China and points out that the present illegitimate children legislation is imperfect that it can't be satisfied with the need of rights and interests protection of illegitimate children. So it is significant to strengthen the legal protection of this vulnerable group.Chapter 1: General Introduction to Illegitimate Children. In this chapter definitions of illegitimate children of different countries are analyzed to figure out who are illegitimate children. Then by exploring the history of legal status of illegitimate children it draws the conclusion that on the principle of best interests for the child and effectively guarantee the benefits of illegitimate children is the inevitable development trend of current parenthood legislation.Chapter 2: International Comparison of Legal Protection of Illegitimate Children. The legislations of the rights and interests protection of illegitimate children in other countries and regions are compared. And advantages and disadvantages of these legislations are analyzed to provide experience for the perfection of illegitimate children protection legislation in our country.Chapter 3: Current Situation of Legal Protection of Illegitimate Children inChina. This chapter focuses on the legislation and practice of the protection of illegitimate children in China, and analyzes the problems existing in the current legal protection system of illegitimate children.Chapter 4: Perfection of the Legal Protection System of Illegitimate Children of Our Country. This chapter further discusses the necessity of improving the legal protection of illegitimate children. Taking example by the legislative experience of other countries and regions, the author puts forward several concrete suggestions on how to perfect the legal protection system of illegitimate children of our country.The conclusion reminds main contents and frankly acknowledges defects of this article.
