From the 17th century, Feminism has experienced three stages: from the practice stage of women's movement, to the stage of beginning of theory, and then, to the stage of theory development. Feminists broke the traditional political theory and view, and developed feminism. The development of feminism was progressed from the "stubbornly" liberal feminism to "advocating equal" postmodern feminism. The main branches of feminism are liberal feminism, active feminism and postmodern feminism. It does not like other traditional political theories that have similar viewpoints, and there are lots of contradictories and conflicts among every branch of feminism.After it entered our country's research field in the end of 20th, researches have made more research on feminism in international relations, and they published lot of essays and works. By arranging the internal and external theories achievements, this essay summarizes and analyzes the main points, characters, and deficiencies of feminism postmodernism in international relations;on this basis, it also makes some researches on comparing the difference among other branches of feminism, such as liberal feminism, active feminist, Marxist feminism and cultural feminism. We can know clearly that the characters and differences among its branches, and postmodern feminism is reconcilable theory of feminism theory.Entering the new century, international relation researches have been paying more attention to postmodern feminism, which shows the importance of field of international relation theory has been improved, and also shows the important position of postmodern feminism in feminism theory. For these reasons, researching postmodern feminism not only makes feminism theory richer, but helps researchers study international relation theory from more respects.
