A Study On The Development Of The Sport Tourism In Qingdao

Sport tourism which is a new type of tourism combining tourism with sports becomes to be the favorite of tourists as the development of sports industry and tourism industry. Qingdao is rich in sport tourism resources and has a large market of sport tourism. In addition, Qingdao will hold the sailing match of Olympic Games in 2008. This thesis mainly studies how to utilize the advantages of sport tourism in Qingdao to promote the city image and increase the benefits from sports industry and tourism industry.This thesis starts with the status quo of the sport tourism in China and the world to explain the concept, characters and significance of sport tourism. In the thesis, the author analyzes the status quo and requirements of the sport tourism in Qingdao, and provides the development guideline of the sport tourism in Qingdao. This thesis is composed of four chapters:Chapter Ⅰ- A brief on sport tourism: In this chapter, the author will introduce the status quo and characters of the sport tourism in China and the world, then discuss the necessity of developing the sport tourism in Qingdao.Chapter Ⅱ- An analysis of the developing requirements of the sport tourism in Qingdao: The author analyzes the requirements of developing the sport tourism in Qingdao from five aspects — resources, market, economy, policy and society, and points out the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat by the SWOT method.Chapter Ⅲ - The main part of the thesis: By analyzing the resources and the market of the sport tourism in Qingdao by RMP method, the author provides a feasible measure of developing the sport tourism. Additionally, the author combines the experiences of sport tourism development in the world with the actual situation of Qingdao, and provides a strategy of managing the sport tourism in Qingdao.Chapter-Ⅳ - The last part: In this chapter, the author provides the measure to manage the sport tourism in tourism development, investment, community participation, human resources and sustainable development.
