This paper mainly studies the problem of spatial layout of regional tourism planning. It is made up of six parts.In the first part, the significance of this paper, its framework, the research methods used in this paper are described.In the second part, the basic concepts and theories of industry layout are introduced. The basic theories include the general theory of industry layout and theory of tourism industry layout. To systemize these theories, the abstract system model of spatial layout for regional tourism is constructed in this paper, and based on the areas each theory can be applied, my article try to analyze it from the perspectives of tourist resorts and tourist areas respectively. Here, I also put forward some of my own arguments about the application of these theories.In the third part of this paper, the main factors that affect the spatial layout of regional tourism are analyzed. These factors are resource conditions, location of the resort, market potential , social and economical situations of the resorts and government policies, of which the resource conditions are most important while the location is one of the key factors.In the fourth part, the general shaping process, which can be divided into forming, development and mature, of the spatial layout for regional tourism is first analyzed; then, the institutions that affect the spatial layout of regional tourism are disclosed, and here I contend that the location of the resorts determine the spatiallayout of the tourism industry. The closure institution and the spread institution are paradoxical, they are the coral institutions for the closure and spread of tourism industry while governmental behavior is a powerful complement.In the fifth part, the principles and basic models for the spatial layout of regional tourism industry are brought forth, and the several relations that should be handled by the tourism industry layout are also concluded here according to the characteristics of tourism industry. The principles of spatial layout for regional tourism industry are involving in the regional work-division, making use of the comparative advantages, attempting at harmonious development. The growth-level model, point-axis model, circle-layer model are the fundamental models for the spatial layout of regional tourism layout. While handling the layout of tourism industry according to the basic models, the relations between core areas and peripheral areas, the relations between tourist destinations and passing areas, the relations between spatial competition and unity, the relations between tourist resorts and surrounding towns, the relations between accessibility and the layout of tourism industry.The last part of this paper is case study, which is divided into two parts: the first one deals with the case of the Grand Jiuzai International Tourist area, it analyzes deeply the process of the spatial layout of regional tourism industry and its model, it also analyzes the status of the layout of area, points out the strong point and the weak point of its planning by using theories of industrial layout, and then puts forward some development design; the second one then illustrates some of the spatial layout of the most famous tourist resorts.
