Calligraphy Should Keep To The Rules Of "Fa", And "Yi" Should Be Permeated In It

As the two very important theories in Chinese calligraphy aesthetics,"Fa"and"Yi"have laid great influence on afterworld. This thesis will coordinate and demonstrate the discussion of"Fa"and"Yi"in the calligraphy theory of the past dynasties. The first section mainly demonstrates the content, system and important role of"Fa", and explains"Youfa","Wufa"and"Wufazhifa"and so on. The second section mainly demonstrates the connotation of"Yi"and its historical changes in the past dynasties."Youyi","Wuyi"and"Wuyizhiyi"are also explained in this section. Finally ,the author expresses his own thoughts on the dialectical relationship of"Yi"and"Fa"and the learning and creation of the contemporary calligraphy. The author often notices that some works seem to lack of loveliness and characteristics although they look complicated during the process of everyday calligraphic pratice and appreciating national exhibitions and other exhibitions. While, other works, which are totally different, seem to be arrogant and such a mess. In view of this, having researched and meditated historical thories in the past dynasties carefully, the author put forword the perspective of calligraphy learning and creation which combines"Yi"and"Fa"in a perfect way. The thesis aims at throwing out a brick to attract a jade through the author's effort so that it can correct the trend and promote the ordered development of the Chinese calligraphy art.
