Comparison Between Two Chinese Versions Of Hamlet From The Perspective Of Translator's Subjectivity

Taking the two Chinese versions of Hamlet as the core, the thesis makes a series of comparison and appreciation, not only comparing Liang Shiqiu and Zhu Shenghao's translation characteristics in details, but also appreciating some wonderful passages. At the same time what influences their choices are discussed. Therefore, the thesis first talks about translator's subjectivity and its influences. Some definitions about translator's subjectivity and what roles it plays in the process of translation are listed. In Chapter 3, the thesis brings in Shakespeare and his Hamlet, as well as the two Chinese versions and its two translators. In Chapter 4, the thesis both compares Liang Shiqiu's and Zhu Shenghao's translation characteristics and appreciates some wonderful passages. Besides, how translator's subjectivity affects the two great translators is also analyzed. Generally speaking, the thesis mainly compares the two Chinese translation versions of Hamlet by Shakespeare , and in the process, discusses one of the reasons for emerging different Hamlet—Translator's Subjectivity.
