In Yuan dynasty, the main literal style is drama which includes lyric, spoken part and more. It is plain, close to spoken language. The leading playwright is Guan Hanqing. The most distinct features of his dramas are plain as spoken language which shows its popularity of folk literary. In Wang Guowei's Drama History in Song and Yuan Dynasty, he regards Guan Hanqing as a great playwright.This article discusses about the popularity of the drama language in three aspects. First, the author discusses about popular glossary through dialect and vulgarism. There is lots of dialect in Guan Hanqing's drama. It is mainly the northern dialect and some is used now which proves the popularity of the drama language. Regards of vulgarism, the author chooses adage, dirty words and funny words. They derive from life, so they indicate the drama individuation. Besides, the author discusses about the folk culture in the drama language which will help explain the popularity. Second, the author discuss about rhetoric art in the drama. There are a lot of rhetoric ways in his drama. The author chooses three which can indicate the popularity, that is, citation, redulplication and parable. The author uses the stories and fables the drama cites to explain citation. The author discusses about the different kinds of redulplications and their function to prove the popularity. Through explanation of the popularity of parable part, the author tries to prove its function. Regarding the grammar, the author focuses on the sentence"则被"and the glossary o"f的"which is frequently used in the drama to express the character's painful feeling.Guan Hanqing's drama has rich content, wide subject and vivid characters. The language meets different requirements, so he is really a great playwright. There are many researches about his dramas, but it lacks the research on drama language especially its popularity. The author tries to connect culture, linguistics with literal research of the drama through analysis of the effects, rhetorical arts and grammar of popular words.
