A lot of farmers left their home to seek work, do business or do other jobs since the implementation of the reform and opening policy. And lots of children have to live without the caring of parents. There are more than 2000 parent-absent children in China. We should try our best to solve this problem. In this study, we want to identify the protective factors in resiliency that might modify the negative effects of parent-absence in parent-absent children.About 561 parent-absent children took part in the study. By using the ER89, CPQ and social support inventory, we examined the parent-absent children's resiliency, social support and personalities.First, there are no significant age difference, grade difference in resiliency. And there are significant differences in the rest of the demographic variables in resiliency.Second, correlative analysis indicated that there exist remarkable relevance between social support, personality and resiliency. In social support, the relations between resiliency and using of support are higher than the relations between resiliency and subjective support or perceived support.Third, regression analysis results indicated that social support and personality both can play predict roles for resiliency. In social support, subjective support and using of support both can predict resiliency. But perceived support can't predict resiliency.Fourth, there are significant difference both in social support and personality between the parent-absent children low on resiliency and high on resiliency.
