Roger T.Ames Explaination Of Confucianism And Syncretization Between Chinese Philosophy And Western Philosophy

It is every Chinese philosophy researchers` will and duty to probe the nature of Chinese traditional philosophy and spread it out.According to the fact that Chinese philosophy having a great influence on the whole world , the learning situation of exploring western scholars` studying in Chinese philosophy realm and researching lots of materials about it,I chose Roger T. Ames to be represented of study object.I used statement as a main way and combination statement and analysis. First of all,I analyzed the achievement of Roger T. Ames` study Confucianism.Then,I tried to summarize Roger T. Ames` syncretizatation between Chinses philosophy and Western philosophy by means of Confucianism.Finally,I came to conclusion.Part One:Introduciton of the achievement that Roger T. Ames studied Confucius and his thoughts.As a famous western scholar,Roger T. Ames gave a good praise to Confucianism.He thinks that western people should learn from Confucius,because he spread traditional culture,normalized his own action,teached his students by communication and promoted harmonious thinking.Roger T. Ames criticized the mistakes when the western scholars studyed Chinese philosophy,they gave the misunderstanding of the explaination contexts.He pointed out an appropriate way to express Chinese philosophy and the comparative way to study Confucianism.By inducing Confucianism methodology,he said that there was internal cosmology, the polarization conception and Confucianism correlative thinking in Confucianism.Part Two:By comparing the general character between Confucianism and Du Wei`s pragmatism, Roger T. Ames arrived at conclusion that there are feasibility and current meaning in the syncretization between Chinese philosophy and Westen philosophy.He paid more attention to how to make the syncretization come true and he gave two suggestions:by using Chinese philosophy`s concept-"self"and making the meaning of"wuwu"and"self"clearly in Chinese confucianism`s social groups, he want to solve the phenomenon"weiwo"in the west.And he hope that he can use Confucianism`s practicality to solve western theoreticalism.Part Three: With the economic and cultural development in the world,the globalization of Chinese philosophy speeds up.Especially,Confucianism that is represented of Chinese philosophy becomes an important part of world philosophy. More experts pay attention to the comparison and syncretization between Chinese philosophy that they particularly attach importance to Confucianism and Western phliosophy。And this becomes a good way to solve cultural conflict and social contradictory now. Roger T.Ames is one of them that tries to study and explore it.As we know,we still need a long time and overcome more difficulty because of the western indifferent and the inaccurate translation.
