Into The Femal's World In Opera

The opera has its special creation method especially when it is loaded by music and dramas a form of art. The portrayal of character personalities is the key method to mold the character in the opera, and one of the most important factors symbolizing the success of a particular opera. Verdi and Puccini are important composer in the opera history, whose works having high rate in the world performance. They are the great Italian opera composer in 1900s', but they have different background and affection experience, which result in the difference of artistic styles and vocal characteristics between their works. In this article, the author tries to analyze their several arias by comparing the background, artistic styles, the feature of music and vocal characteristics. According to different female character personalities, they give different patterns in personality presentation based on character differences., in both dramatic and musical aspects. Throughout the presentation, they insisted on the contradictory unity principle, and wedged important forms of expression (like aria and duet) between the key parts. They also contrasted different characters to fully demonstrated different personalities. This article pays great attention to the theoretical analysis, the spectrum example research, uses drama, esthetics, psychology and other compound methodology, combining my vocal major to compare the different composers' sing styles, the character musical image and the drama music conflict. This is helpful for singers to understand these works, as well as the opera teaching.This thesis consists of five chapters:Introduction , by giving a short introduction of the present research on the artistic styles and the topic Significance, the emphasis, approaches.In the first chapter, generalizes the importance and the artistic technique of character depiction in the field of drama and opera.In the second chapter, refers to the composers' difference in social aesthetic and composing tendencies, which are caused by their attitudes, different social backgrounds.In the third chapter, it mainly analyzes Verdi and Puccini's several typical works in terms of the femal tragical image, love subject of music image, the innermost feelings conflict.In the forth chapter, Mainly induce the creation method such as melody charateristic, harmony characteristic, orchestrates and so on. Through analysis of the Verdi, Puccini opera soprano arias, to Compare them the difference of works singing and expatiate on the role- holding when they singed the opera.
