A story about Shui Hu is of long standing because it has undergone the development from historical records, legends and storytellers' scripts in Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty to Northern dramas in Yuan Dynasty, from Northern dramas to novels in Yuan Dynasty, from novels to Chuanqi and Northern dramas in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. Among the series of the literature about Shui Hu, the Shui Hu dramas have taken up the very important status and shown the unusual art charm of the literal style of the drama. At the same time, during the propagations of the period of time, each adaptation and propagation has increased or decreased the inherent information of the original story. The research on the cause and effect of the increase or decrease of the information can help us to understand the social culture and thoughts at that time much more deeply and be of important significance to the adaptation and propagation at present. This thesis whose research object is the Shui Hu dramas in Ming Dynasty tries to analyze the profound significance about them by virtue of the analysis that how the Shui Hu dramas in Ming Dynasty accepted and adapted the novel Shui Hu Zhuan.The thesis consists of five chapters:The first chapter firstly puts the development of the Shui Hu story in order. Secondly, it enumerates the plays of Shui Hu dramas in Ming Dynasty which still exist today as possible as particularly in order to understand the development of Shui Hu dramas more fully and directly. What's more, the thesis compares the plots both in the Shui Hu dramas which still exist and the novel Shui Hu Zhuan and expounds that how the authors of Shui Hu dramas accepted or rejected the plots and characters in the novel Shui Hu Zhuan. This part is the basis on which the thesis goes step futher to expound.The second chapter firstly expounds the possibility that the Shui Hu dramas adapted the novel Shui Hu Zhuan from the relationship of inherent essence, taste tendency and literal function between the novel and drama. Secondly, it expounds how the Shui Hu dramas adapted the novel Shui Hu Zhuan in order to adapt the style characteristics of the drama from the two aspects of narration mode and exhibition technique.The third chapter mainly discusses that how the Shui Hu dramas succeeded to...
