The Islamic Revolution broke out and the Shah Dynasty that has ruled Iran for about more than half a century was overthrown in Iran in 1979. The new regime directed by the Islamic Ideology has been built, the system has determined the speciality of Iran's diplomat, the foreign Policy is that "Neither east nor west, only Islamism." The ideology and action that Iran had exported "the Islamic Revolution" led to the war between Iran and Iraq. The thesis mainly inquired into the characteristic of Iran's foreign policy during the war between Iran and Iraq. In order to gain the victory of the war, the diplomatic policy of Iran has displayed lacking harmony between ideology and realism.The thesis includes six parts in time order. The first part: It carried on concept's authenticate, main introduction of domestic and international research dynamic state and the problem that is existed. The second part: Reviewing the foreign policy of Iran before the war between Iran and Iraq, especially looking back the diplomatic policy from World War II to the war between Iran and Iraq in Iran's history, including the foreign policy during both the Shah Dynasty and the beginning of Khomeini regime. The third part is about the foreign policy during the former period of the war. In the phase, Iran appeared on the world stage extremely to carry on the foreign policy of "Neither east nor west, only Islamism" that Iran had carried out in Khomeini's reginal period. Facing to the war that Iraq had provoked firstly, Iran refused all the mediation that not only a country but also U.N had implemented, Iran revenged himself on Iraq violently. All above it isolated Iran from the other countries unprecedented. The forth part is the main test point, it elaborated the foreign policy of Iran during the middle period of the war. In order to attack the enemy and gain the victory of the war, Iran adjusted the tough foreign policy that Iran had implemented in the first phase of the war, while Iran was against U.S.A and USSR, Iran was taking an opening attitude to the western countries and Iran developed the relationships between Iran and the third world countries actively.
