The Song essay ,a new literary style,took shape in the Han Dynasty which gained great fame,high prestige and flouring civilization.Its coming to being was inevitable because there were large numbers of elements of the Song in the Pre-Qin days.During eight hundred years or so from the Western Han Dynasty's founding to the Chen Dynasty's withering away,the Song's growing was indentical with the political climate at that time.The Han Dynasty's high prestige made the Song of punitive exedition and ramble prosperous,in the other hand,the political circumstances' waning made the Song of sagacious government officials flourishing.The Song of all subject matters shows us two obvious trends:1,Rhapsody(Fu) influenced the Song's language,style,etc.2,the classics in Pre-Qin days affected the Song and made them become works modeled after the ancient.In the Wei and Jin Dynasties,the Song of supernatural being,hermit and chanting the trivials grew collectively owing to the political circumastances' reactionary rule and the Confucianisms' faintness.The long and the short both existed but took new looks as well. In the Northen and Southern Dynasties,with the state powers being replaced frequently,the Song of aupicous signs emerged in large numbers.In the meanwhile,Buddhists sept into the Song and made them rich and bright colours,especially in language.The Song existed in every dynasty because of the different thoughts between the creaters and the receivers.There　were some reasons for the Song's being created.1,scholars officials expectations about rank,position and wealth.2,expecting the Son of Heaven more perfect.3,concealing the thought of making great contributions.In the contrary,they did created and made their personality obsequious.There were also some reasons for their using the fixed models of creating the Song:1,lack of real emotions.2,the limits to the fixed models.3,the thought of modeling artistic style on that of the ancients.On the receivers' respect,their power and authority was different from that of the creaters,therefore,the receivers understood the Song's according to their own ideas and the writers was forced to creat under the power.In the Han Dynasty, the cognition about the Song was compatible with the creating.In the Wei and Jin Dynasties,Lu Ji emphasized that the Song must be classical and colorful.At the same time,Zhi Yu expressed his ideas of different types and their spreading of the Song.In Liu Xie'sWen Xin Diao Long ,all previous teaching of the Song synthesized and brought to its highest development.Xiao Tong compiled Wen Xuan and showed us his thought about theSong.The language of the Song must be goreous with beautiful thought.In a word,we can understand the scholar officials'thought with our sympathy by researching the Song completly during the medieval times,besides them,the Song provides us many documentary materials of ancient culture.
