As one of the basic courses for the higher institutes and normal colleges of Arts, the course of Piano is of vital importance. However, in the concrete teaching practice, there are still quite a few mistakes and errors influencing the effect and efficiency of the teaching and instruction piano. It is very significant in our more scientific, systematic and regular piano teaching to analyze these factors, find where the hard-shell is, therefore discovering the effective methods and perfecting the theories and methods concerned. The first part of the present paper is the self-made questionnaire about piano teaching and study with the undergraduates in the higher institutes and colleges in Lanzhou as the object followed by the brief introduction to the general things and the methods used. Based on the phenomenon and the statistics reflected in the questionnaire, in combination with the principles of pedagogy and psychology, the second part is the preliminary analysis of the factors which influence the study and teaching of piano from seven aspects such as the extrinsic factors, intrinsic factors, individual quality, the teacher抯 attitude, the types of teachers, the types of students, different teaching forms and the teacher-student relationships; and then the writer抯 views and suggestions are put forward.
